Tapatak Oz

Coastal Dance is the only studio in Currumbin to offer classes & exams in Christine Denny’s Tapatak Oz syllabus. Tapatak Oz is a modern syllabus that’s inspiring to students & fosters a passion for tap by encouraging students to develop their own unique style and by giving them the technical fundamentals to do so confidently. In 2013 four Coastal Dance students received a Supreme Distinction with 96% in their Tapatak Oz exams.

In 2014 we welcome David Sheather to our faculty as our tap teacher. Since the age of 11, David has been trained by some of Australia’s finest dancers/choreographers in most styles of dance and has travelled the world as a professional entertainer. David has also had the pleasure of performing countless times both nationally and internationally with Red Hot Rhythm’s professional performance group, including the Grand Final of AUSTRALIA’S GOT TALENT 2009 and Red Hot Rhythm’s original production “RHYTHM JUNKIES” in April 2012. Over the years David has had the privilege of appearing on various televised events and TV shows including Australia’s Got Talent, Today Show, The Shak, Home and Away and the Super-league Grand Final Opening Ceremony. We look forward to welcoming David to Coastal Dance!
