Getting started
What age can my child start dance classes?
Children can start from 2 years old in our Mini Ballerinas and Mini Acrobats classes. From there we have classes for every age group through to Grade 12 and pre-professional level: Pre-Prep (Kindy), Pre-Junior (Prep–Grade 1), Junior (Grades 2–3), Pre-Intermediate (Grades 4–5), Intermediate (Grades 6–7), Pre-Senior (Grades 8–9) and Senior (Grades 10–12).
What dance styles do you teach?
We teach classical ballet (including pointe for senior students), jazz, commercial jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, musical theatre and acrobatics. See our Classes page for more on each style.
How does the free trial work?
New students can try any suitable classes on our timetable for one week, completely free. Fill in the free trial form with your child’s age group and we’ll get in touch to book them into the right classes.
What should my child wear to class?
For their first class, trial students are welcome to wear anything they feel comfortable moving in. Our Coastal Dance uniform is available to purchase at reception. It’s mostly black, so if your dancer is worried about fitting in, a black base outfit works perfectly.
Which class level is right for my child?
Our class levels are based on your child’s school grade, so most children go straight into their grade’s level. If your child has danced before or you’re not sure where they fit, contact us and we’ll help you choose.
