A class for every age, every style, every dancer
At Coastal Dance we teach every major dance style, so your child can find what they love and grow into a versatile, confident dancer. Classes are grouped by school grade, from 2-year-olds right through to pre-professional seniors, and we welcome families from Elanora, Palm Beach, Currumbin Waters, Tugun and across the Southern Gold Coast.

Ages 2–4
Mini Ballerinas & Mini Acrobats
Your toddler’s first dance class. Our 30-minute Mini classes build coordination, listening skills and confidence through music, imaginative play and early ballet steps. Mini Acrobats introduces safe rolling, balancing and tumbling.
Pre-Prep to Senior · pointe for seniors
Classical Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of every dance style, building strength, posture, flexibility and musicality. Our students follow the COMDANCE ballet syllabus, sitting graded exams as they progress and COMDANCE vocational exams as senior students. Students sitting exams take two ballet classes a week plus exam preparation.
Pre-Junior to Senior
Jazz & Commercial Jazz
High-energy classes full of kicks, leaps and turns. Jazz students can sit COMDANCE jazz exams, while commercial jazz brings in the styles seen in music videos and stage shows.

Tap
Tap turns your child’s feet into a musical instrument and builds rhythm and coordination. We teach the Tapatak Oz syllabus developed by Christine Denny, one of Australia’s leading tap dancers, and students can sit Tapatak exams. Our Principal Kate was named Tapatak Oz Teacher of the Year.
Junior to Senior
Contemporary & Lyrical
Expressive styles that draw on ballet and modern dance. Students explore floor work, release and storytelling through movement, including the Horton, Graham and Cunningham techniques.
Ages 2 to Senior
Acrobatics
Balance, flexibility, strength and tricks, taught safely on mats with careful progressions. From Mini Acrobats through to Senior, students build skills like bridges, walkovers and handstands that lift every other style of dance.
Junior to Senior
Musical Theatre
Singing, acting and dancing together. Students learn pieces from modern and classic musicals and build real stage confidence.
Junior to Senior
Hip Hop
Street and urban styles set to current music. A fun, social way to get active and build confidence, and a great first class for kids who love to move.

Exams, eisteddfods & performing
Exams
Students can sit COMDANCE ballet exams (graded and vocational), COMDANCE jazz exams and Tapatak Oz tap exams, giving them clear goals and recognised progress each year.
Eisteddfods
Dedicated dancers can join our eisteddfod troupes and solos, competing across South East Queensland and the Northern Rivers.
End-of-year concert
Every student gets to perform on stage in our end-of-year concert, in costume, in front of family and friends.
