Presenting our 2017 graduates:
Being at Coastal Dance since I was 5 has been such an amazing experience. I have developed a second family through the many years that have passed and will always have the memories we have made together. The laughs I have had with you all are unforgettable although doesn’t mean to say that it has all been easy. There have been tears but it has all made us the dancers we are today. To all the past and present teachers thank you for making my experience here what is has been. Mrs Hanna, this studio could have never survived without all your paperwork and incredible assistance, although there is one person who I would like to thank with all my heart, Miss Kate. You took us in at the start of 2012 and now at the end of 2017 we as seniors are saying goodbye. Let’s just say the first couple of years was based on tough love but you whipped us into shape and look where we are now. I couldn’t thank you enough for everything you have done for me as a dancer and helped with my future studies and employment. Although I will not be continuing dance as a career I will take all that I have learnt from it out into the world as I grow into a young adult. Coastal Dance has not only been my dance studio but my second home and the friendships I have made will never be forgotten. I will always remember the love, support, the dancing and the people I have met here. I am going to miss Coastal and everything that goes along with it, but as Dr. Seuss said “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened”
I have grown from a scared 5 year old child who would cry every time she had to dance, to a matured individual who has found joy and passion, all due to Coastal Dance. Coastal Dance has been my second home for the past 12 years. I will always remember the students, teachers and parents who have shaped our #teamcoastal family. I’m thankful for Mrs Tracey and Miss Stephanie who have pushed me to expand myself, Mrs Horsey who started my dancing journey, Mrs Hanna for always seeing potential in me and Miss Kate who shaped me into the dancer I am today. A huge appreciation goes towards my family and friends for the constant support and faith in my dancing. During my time at Coastal Dance I have learnt and grown significantly, laughed and cried plenty and shared so many memories that will never be forgotten. However, my dancing journey doesn’t end here. Next year I will be attending Dynamite Studios Acadamy to complete my Certificate IV in Dance. Whether I continue dancing as a career or follow a different path, I will always remember Coastal as my origins and my family. The last 12 years have been unforgettable and I am glad I got to share them with my Coastal Dance family.
I wouldn’t be the person I am today without my time at Coastal Dance. It has been shorter than some but still as rewarding. There will never be enough words to share how thankful I am for everything you’ve done Miss Kate. I’m so grateful for the countless hours, time and effort you’ve put in to change me into a better dancer. I started as a stiff, ex physie girl and you have helped transform me into a versatile dancer who now knows many different styles. We’ve created so many wonderful memories as a senior squad, especially our trips to Ipswich, Coffs and Murbah eisteddfods where we always have a lot of laughs. I will be forever grateful for the amazing friends I’ve made in this journey who are just like family. They always support me through my ups and downs and especially in my time of injuries with my torn PCL and a fractured ankle. I will never forget the incredible USA trip with the dance family, and I’m very fortunate to have that experience. Even though this is my final chapter with Coastal, I will always have a love for dance and can’t wait for what the future holds!

Coastal Dance is not just a studio to me; it is my second a home. Over the past 4 years being at Coastal I have developed as a dancer in ways I couldn’t even imagine. Miss Kate is one of a kind! She has enhanced my technical abilities as well as how to represent myself within a professional dance environment. Whilst being at Coastal Dance I have made long lasting relationships with all my peers and the teachers. Both Miss Stephanie and Miss Tracey have encouraged me to do my absolute best in everything I do and I cannot thank them enough. A huge thankyou to Miss Kate for devoting endless hours of hard work and helping me accomplish my dream to pursue my passion for dance as a future career. In 2018, I will be attending QUT to take part in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance) and Master of Teaching, which will enable me to become a Secondary School Dance Teacher. This studio has been a huge part of my life, creating memories that will never be forgotten. I love and respect all involved in my journey throughout the past 4 years, helping me achieve my goals. Thank you so much Coastal Dance, I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
Coastal Dance has been such a large part of my life for the past 12 years and will forever be my second home. I was fortunate enough to have received a full tuition scholarship for my last year here as a student and am enormously grateful for this. I have created so many unforgettable memories with the teachers and students here. Coastal has shaped me into the dancer and person I am today. Miss Kate, I am forever grateful for everything you have done for me. You pushed me to my limits and never let me settle for second best; I owe all my achievements to you. Miss Stephanie, Mrs Tracey & Jack, your classes have pushed my abilities further than I ever could have imagined, thank you. Mrs Hanna, thank you for always just being there for me. To my amazing family, thank you for your continued support; I would not be where I am today without you. In 2018, I will be attending Dynamite Studios Acadamy on a half scholarship to complete my Certificate IV in Dance. From there, I hope to move to Paris and join the Moulin Rouge. Wherever life takes me, I will never forget my roots. From the blue walls to new air conditioning, I have grown up with the studio. It has been an unforgettable 12 years and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
There’s a lot of information that comes with a dance concert so we’ve made a Show Pack bursting with information! You can view the Coastal Dance Show Pack 2017 here!!
