On Saturday the 25th of June, Coastal Dance performed at the Elanora Uniting Church’s ‘Glitz & Glam’ night. It was a fun night for our performance teams & we enjoyed opening their evening! Coastal Dance has been active in the Southern Gold Coast community for over 30 years.

The Coastal Dance Term 2 Open House starts on Monday the 20th of June until Saturday the 25th of June. Parents are invited to watch their child’s technique classes across the timetable (with the exception of Monday’s tap classes).

Congratulations to our Coastal Dance teams, young & old who performed at the Coffs Harbour District Eisteddfod over the weekend. Our seniors entered the The Parriott Family Team Choreography for the first time & they produced an incredible routine that placed 2nd! Thank you to the committee & volunteers of the eisteddfod that made our time so enjoyable.

Coastal Dance will be hosting tap workshops with Tapatak oz creator, Christine Denny on Monday the 20th of June. We will be running 3 levels:

Beginner: 5:00 – 6:00
Senior: 6:00 – 7:00
Intermediate: 7:00 – 8:00

Coastal Dance will be holding a ballet workshop  on Friday the 17th of June with Gina-Marie Leathem who has recently returned from dancing professionally in Europe. There will be junior class (7 – 11 years) from 5:00 – 6:00pm & an Intermediate & Senior class (11 yrs +) from 6:00 – 7:30pm. There is no charge for this workshop as we want to give our students the opportunity to work with a professional ballerina!

Thank you to everyone who supported Jacqueline’s Bake Sale on the weekend. Jacqueline raised $467.55 towards her fundraising efforts & had a great time at the Mother’s Day Classic.

Congratulations to our senior eisteddfod team who were awarded the Most Promising Group (Open Age) at the Ipswich Combined Teachers Festival over the weekend. The adjudicator was incredibly complimentary about their potential & technique & also acknowledged their versatility. We are so proud of how far our seniors have come over the past 4 years & we look forward to watching them succeed!

Congratulations to Junior student, Amelia Mills who was awarded the Most Promising Tapper at the Starbound Entertainers Festival. Amelia is an incredibly hard working student & a deserving winner!
